Butterfly Basics Again? Of Course!

I have to admit, I have given this stamp set a bit more attention than my other new sets.  How can I not!  It is just so beautiful and versatile.

Butterfly Basics Stamp

This time I just used stamps and not the framelits.  I had to have a little dimension and add some bitty butterfly punches.  It seems like I can’t create a card these days without an embossing folder getting involved.  They are one of my favorite tools though.

You should check out the Stampin’Up! weekly deals that were posted this morning.  Talk about deals on markers, even blendabilities!  Just saying…

Have a creative day!

Cheerful Critters

Well, if you ever needed a smile, here is one sure way to get it.  This stamp set is beyond adorable.

Cheerful Critters

I wasn’t sure at first, but truly couldn’t resist.  After I got the stamps out and made a few things, I quickly fell in love.  A little bit of time with my treasured blendabilities and magic happened.  You really should try it out.

Did I mention that the background paper and ribbons are free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog?  Why not buy the things you love and enjoy a free product or two.

Have a creative day!

Butterfly Basics, Beautiful Inside and Out

Nearly all of my favorite things are here together in these cards.  Butterflies, more butterflies, pear pizzaz, an awesome heart punch, dazzling diamonds paper, and the beautiful sentiment from a free stamp set.  Life is good.Beautiful Inside and Out

I love how a card can look so different depending on how you set it up, portrait or landscape.  Do I have a favorite?  I love them both of course!

Beautiful Inside and Out

Such a cloudy day outside it is hard to see all the sparkle.  But believe me, it is there in full force.  Do you like the look of the background paper?  It is of course yet another beautiful background stamp from Stampin’Up!  Those guys are amazing.

Beautiful Inside and Out

That means that you could create this card in countless colors.  How fun is that?

Beautiful Inside and Out

I had meant to do this earlier this morning, but my studio needed an overhaul. Evenings are a nice time to post too, and to craft.

Have a creative evening!

Envelope Punch Board Meets Box Punch Board

I was in the mood for a box project, so I went to work.  First off, I know the photo isn’t the best.  I was in a rush out the door this morning and couldn’t sneak a shot outside because of the rain.  But you can still see enough detail.

Lovely Gift Box

I wanted to make a larger box that could work for more than just a treat or two.  My first attempts were with regular cardstock and they worked pretty good, but felt a bit wobbly.  They would have been more solid with an actual gift inside I am sure, but I still switched over to the kraft cardstock.  Much better!

Lovely Gift Box

I used the Chalk Talk stamp set and coordinating framelits, along with a bit of fussy cutting.  I used the naturals ivory cardstock and stamped in daffodil delight.  It really felt like a country wedding.  I brought in the Petite Petals punch and a bunch of sparkle and sponged everything.  I am sometimes compelled to sponge, everything.  I happened to have a huge spool of bias tape that I used for my ribbon and brought in a touch of crocheted lace.

All in all, I think it really turned out lovely.  It measures 6 x 6 x 6, pretty big right? I almost forgot the fun trick part.  I punched and scored using the envelope punch board to make the box.  Then I switched to the box punch board to punch the corners to fasten the box.  Yes, that means that they go together in the back without any adhesive!  Cool trick there for sure.  You should give it a try!

Have a creative day!

Throw Back Thursday with Good Greetings

Everyone uses the phrase ‘Throw Back Thursday’ when they share old photos.  So much fun.  Well, I thought that would be a great thing to do for stamping as well.  We all love our stamps, even when they are no longer available for purchase.  If you were fortunate enough to get the Good Greetings stamp set, you will recognize these two sweet phrases.

I put this simple card together with a basic black card base and brought in some crisp cantaloupe.  I made one little heart punch, love the updated one, added some silver ribbon, and stamped I love you once more inside with silver.

I had to add a little bling, both to dot the “I” and a small row on the card front and just inside.  Not too much, just enough.

Don’t forget to pair your old favorite stamps and tools with all of the fun things you add to your collection.  This is my idea of a perfect Throw Back Thursday.

Have a creative day!

You + Me =…

Well, isn’t this just the sweetest card?  Who says valentines cards have to be all pink, red, and white?  I love using stamps that are seasonal another way to give it a different look.  This could really be used any time of the year.

You + Me =

The designer paper is from the free paper pack during the Stampin’Up! Sale-a-bration event.  You can earn this free item with your merchandise order of $50 or more.  Who doesn’t love tulips?

Best. Day. Ever.

What a great set of cards, right?  I really love this stamp set, so whimsical.  So the stamp, the ribbon,  and the designer paper are each items available only during Sale-a-bration and you can’t buy them.

best day ever

They are free items that come with a $50.00 merchandise purchase.  I love free, especially free Stampin’Up!  Such a great line of products.

best day ever

I have been using this boarder punch more and more lately.  That torn notebook look really makes me happy.  The little details really add up to make projects look wonderful, don’t you think?

best day ever

Either way, I hope you have a creative day!

Pacific point meets painted blooms…

So how about this bundle of fun? What a fun busy bit of time before work this morning.  Yes, that means that my school holiday has ended and we all made our way back into that routine.  It could have been worse.  I of course started my day just perfect, don’t you think?

pacific point meets painted blooms

I started out with some wonderful paper from the painted blooms set and decided to focus on the color pacific point.  I haven’t worked much with this color, but the paper brought out the desire.  I just love the colors!  Thank you Stampin’Up! for making everything go together so nicely.

you made my day

I moved forward using the same paper and adding green tones.  I used two stamp sets, Petal Potpourri and Simply Wonderful.  I brought in silver and just enough bling to make me smile.  Having a stamp with a matching punch really makes it easy too, fussy cutting is not my favorite thing.

painted bloom congrats

I think that this paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog is my absolute favorite thing.  White embossed paper in six different prints that you can customize to any ink color you have.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  The sentiment is from the Painted Petals stamp set.  If it wasn’t wonderful enough, you should see the floral two-step stamps that are in the same set.  So much fun!

friends become our chosen family

I suppose I have gushed enough for one day.  I hope you have enjoyed these cards. If you have questions, just let me know.  I would be happy to share.

Have a creative day!

First Workshop of 2015!

Preparing for a workshop can get a little overwhelming at times because I want to do everything.  That doesn’t really fit into our schedule, so I have to have limits.  Then of course I want to share all of the new product that just came out, and showcase the Sale-a-bration goodies, try to not neglect the main catalog and squeeze in things I know my ladies will love.  Do you get me?  When I get a little more seasoned in this blogging thing I will include the dimensions and products I used to make these projects.  Further down the road I will post videos, much further I think.  I know I already posted these photos to Facebook, but it will settle down I am sure.

Just where to begin…

I suppose my first post should just be simple and say hello.  I am not entirely sure what I am doing here, just that I know I want to get this going.  So here we go!  It will get better as I go along, so I will just have to be patient.

I have workshop this weekend and I need to get ready.  I will give updates as I complete each project. Now, just what will they be?  My studio is laughing at me.  Making decisions is so hard sometimes.
