Banner Blessings Gift Set – Friend

The morning took off without me, and there was nothing I could do about it.  This has sat at my computer waiting for me to take a lunch.  Well, never happened.  How about a tiny break?  Works for me.

Banner Blessings Gift Set - Friend

This is the first card of a set of four with a coordinating gift box.  It was so fun to make.  I actually made it for a special someone and I can’t wait to deliver it.  Should be tomorrow!

Banner Blessings Gift Set - Friend

I attached the island indigo torn card stock to the thin whisper white before I ran it through the fluttering embossing folder.  Everything got done at once.  The sentiment was stamped in black stazon and sponged a bit with coordinating ink.  I love the cotton ribbon, it makes such cute bows.  The inside stamping is actually negative punching.  I punched a butterfly or two from the white insert and revealed the card base.  Simple and very effective!  So fun.  Those pretty pearl accents.  I could really get used to those.  I had it dot the “i”, even though it wasn’t needed, I wanted to use one and it fit the image.  A bit of dimensionals and this card was done!

Workshop Madness Day 5

This has been a really fun run of swap sharing Halloween style.  Today I get to share my favorites.  My style tends to lean towards an elegant traditional look and these two are just the thing.

9-7 (3)

I have already blogged a project with If the Broom Fits, so of course I would migrate here. But how about taking it up a notch with an easel card to display it all.  Just lovely with a bit of whimsy.   If you look in the upper left corner you will see a set of floating eyes, cute right?

9-7 (2)

How about this treasure?  You know you you have connected with someone when you love their crafting style on top of all the other yummy goodness.  This ‘spooky’ card was designed by a friend and I love the balance of elements.  She is at http://www.stampingwithvalory.com and you should totally go enjoy her blog. Truly a joy.

9-7 (1)

I have enjoyed sharing this set of swaps.  I think there will be a bundle of nieces and nephews who will be getting these in the mail.

Have a creative day!

Workshop Madness Day 3

How about another day of workshop madness?  One of these was a swap and the other I enjoyed putting together. The kit was ready for me, so that was lots of fun.

9-4 (2)

This black sparkly card was different for me, but I enjoyed it.  We used two circle punches in the black glimmer paper to create the spider. Then we used the fun doily but turned it around to show the white side instead of the black. We drew our spider web and stamped inside as well.

9-4 (1)

This card is not my speed, however, I loved the bats.  I do want to try and recreate it though. I think it is important to challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone.  I could have fun with some of this.

Workshop Madness Day 2

How cute is this little set?  Here are two more projects to share.  Again, these aren’t mine, but I can totally see myself giving them a try.

9-5 (3)

This lovely little card uses a window sheet, washi tape and sequins to make the shaker card front.  It is a little hard to see, but there is some texture using my new favorite embossing folder.

9-5 (2)

Now this treat favor was a huge hit. It actually wrapped around a huge candy bar. Not only is it adorable, but was delicious.  I love how she put rhinestones inside the skulls eyes. Just too cute!

Thank You For Strong Girls

I do so love a pretty little carton to give someone, especially when it is full of their favorite treat.  I was thinking about my girls this morning, and how strong and amazing they are, and this treasure came to life.

Thank You For Strong Girls

I am so grateful for my daughters who remain strong through adversity.  When a woman can stand up for herself, and truly value herself, it is something worth celebrating for sure.

Thank You For Strong Girls

I took a full sheet of this wonderful Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP, cut off two inches from one side and began to score.  Each side measures 2 7/8″, so you need to start from one side, measure that distance and score each time.  This will leave you with 1/2″ on the edge that will allow you to adhere the box.  The bottom score line also measures at 2 7/8″.  I scored the top at 1/2″ and then at 3″.  Although I am not the best at directions, it does come together pretty easily.

Thank You For Strong Girls

I stamped Thank You from the One Big Meaning set.  It fit perfectly within the 1 3/4″ circle punch.  I punched a 2″ circle from the Dazzeling Diamond paper and layered them with dimensionals.  A lovely bow made from the Dotted Lace Trim finishes it off.  I did do a bit of sponging on all of the edges.  I love a sponged edge.

Sending Good Thoughts

Yesterday quite simply just ran away from me.  Sometimes there are too many things to get done, too many people to help, and one too many places to go.  So, this was for yesterday.

Sending Good Thoughts

How about a nice masculine all occasion card?  Nice combination if you ask me.  When you have a great background stamp like Hardwood, the card almost finishes itself.  The front was stamped in early espresso and sponged lightly until I liked the look.  I tried something a little different for my inside stamping.  I just used this huge stamp at an angle and stamped opposite corners.  It worked out pretty good.

Sending Good Thoughts

I had to stamp my sentiment a few times though,  I wasn’t being very patient and then it didn’t look straight.  It doesn’t have to be perfect to make me happy, but maybe not look all wonky either.  A quick trip to the banner triple punch and my front layering was done.  How easy is that?

Sending Good Thoughts

I did layer the banner element up on dimensionals and accessorized lightly with two silver mini-brads.  That is all it needed.

Have a creative day!

Moana

I gave myself a little challenge for this card project.  I went to my color coach and flipped through the color trio displays on the back and picked out a set I thought might not work after all.  What do you think?

Happy For You

We have perfect plum, blushing bride and sahara sand.  When I put the card stock on my desktop I wasn’t too sure myself.  But, as always, I pushed ahead.  I put together a collection of framelits to create most of the elements, added an inked up doily, and only used a background stamp.  I surprised myself when I opened up the I Love Lace stamp and discovered that I hadn’t used it yet.  Talk about being unorganized sometimes!

Happy For You

That has to a favorite thing about doing this blog activity.  I really get to use all of the stamps I have collected.  This background stamp is just awesome!

Happy For You

I still was unsure of the card all the way to nearly the end.  After I added a bow I was good.  So, it came together after all.  Such a fun card.

Bundled Baby Shower Invites

How do you make a baby shower invitation when you don’t know if it is a boy or girl?  You have options, that is what you do.  I am trying to decide between these two choices.

Bundled Baby

I love the darker look because it shows those adorable stars.  And shouldn’t every baby be the shining star?  Of course!

Bundled Baby

But then I love the lighter combo because it becomes all about that adorable little baby.  The focus becomes so clear.  I am also in love with the spiral punch I used on the top.

Bundles Baby

So, what do you think?  I so enjoyed using all the fun products here.  Lots of ink and blendabilities of course.  Just my kind of fun.

Throw Back Thursday to Seasonally Scattered

The Seasonally Scattered stamp set was just from last fall, but I have been waiting to make a valentine card from the moment I opened it.  And yes, all those little tiny speckle bits are hearts.  I get so curious sometimes how they make all of those details appear so perfectly in stamps.  Is a field trip in order?  I think yes.

Seasonally Scattered

Putting it together with crisp cantaloupe and crumb cake was a result of loving the Sale-a-bration ribbon just so much.  Of course the wonderful Irresistibly Yours embossed designer series paper has to be my favorite thing out of all the freebies available.

Seasonally Scattered

So, don’t forget the stamps you love.  They will always find a way to work with new product.  Stampin’Up! is all about coordination, wouldn’t you agree?

One Tag Fits All and Simply Wonderful

Can you tell who has baby girls on the brain?  Super exciting to say the least. Blushing bride is such a wonderful pink to work with.  Now to get shopping to put something sweet inside.

One Tag Fits All and Simply Wonderful

This little ducky is just adorable.  I did think he needed to have blue eyes though.  I put this together pretty quick.  I used the box builder board and an 8 x 8 piece of cardstock.  The designer paper is from the All Abloom paper stack.  I loved how the little arrow pattern matched the chevron ribbon.  Really sweet.

One Tag Fits All

This tall open box used a full sheet of 8.5 x 11 cardstock.  I just did a quick math problem to divide it up to get the largest tall box I could.  I wanted it left open on top.  Couldn’t you see a sweet little giraffe poking its head out?  The bag is really sturdy though.  I could put loads of things inside without any worry.

Simply Wonderful

I also used All Abloom paper to decorate the sides.  I had to include one of my favorite punches, Petit Petals.  You just need to have that one on hand.  I used melon mambo for the sentiment, but stamped it off once for a lighter look.

These were so fun to make.  I did have them ready Saturday morning to share, but I am learning that posting during the week fits into my morning schedule quite nicely.  Weekends always have so much to be done.  I will have to work on that.

Have a creative day!

A Few of My Favorite Things, Literally

If you know me well enough, you will see my favorite things here.  I am so in love with this orange, tangelo twist.  I am glad Stampin’Up! will keep it around for another year.  It has been lovely so far.

A Few of My Favorite Things

When I first got my hands on this butterfly framelit set I couldn’t get this idea out of my head.  I thought about using a retired punch to build flowers for this butterfly to rest on, but gave this stamp set a try instead.  What do you think/A Few of My Favorite Things

I worked with water color paper for all of the layered bits, even the butterfly.  I liked being able to sponge, sprintz, and just go at that butterfly.  It really held up well even with all of those delicate openings.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I had to make a matching gift bag, of course.  This is also done in water color paper.  It is spritzed, stamped, sponged, and stamped some more.  I hadn’t made a bag yet in this type of paper.  I will certainly be doing this again.  It was so fun.

A Few of My Favorite Things

The only thing that would have made this one step better was having a dragonfly involved.  They are my favorite.

Throw Back Thursday Fabulous You and Bow Builder Punch

This Sunday my Denali was wearing these fabulous shoes.  The more I looked at them the more I saw a card coming together.

Fabulous You Denali!

I originally thought about using the new lace background stamp.  Then I realized I had a beautiful shoe stamp!  Perfect for TBT don’t you think?

Fabulous You Denali

I brought in the bow builder punch to decorate the top of the shoe.  Maybe a bit over the top, but I still love it.  I loved Denali’s reaction, “Mom, you made my shoe into a card!  That is so cool!”  And yes it is, enough said.

Hooray It’s Your Day with Birthday Bash Speciality DSP

Well, could this combo be any more beautiful?  The stamps in this set are huge and just demand to be front and center.

Hooray It's Your Day!

But I of course I couldn’t just leave it at that.  This paper is beyond beautiful.  I am not too sure about the seam binding ribbon, it is growing on me though.  Just like using sequins.  I really like the look they give my projects.

Hooray It's Your Day!

I stamped on velum for both of these cards and tried to be creative on how I attached them to their card bases.  With the stripes it looks like they are different shades of blue and gray.  Just regular bermuda bay there.  I ran adhesive down every other stripe and it gave the paper a new look.  Fun stuff there.

Hooray It's Your Day

Remember that tomorrow is TBT, Throw Back Thursday, and my projects are already ready.  You will just have to come back tomorrow!

Until then, have a creative day!

Butterfly Basics Again? Of Course!

I have to admit, I have given this stamp set a bit more attention than my other new sets.  How can I not!  It is just so beautiful and versatile.

Butterfly Basics Stamp

This time I just used stamps and not the framelits.  I had to have a little dimension and add some bitty butterfly punches.  It seems like I can’t create a card these days without an embossing folder getting involved.  They are one of my favorite tools though.

You should check out the Stampin’Up! weekly deals that were posted this morning.  Talk about deals on markers, even blendabilities!  Just saying…

Cheerful Critters

Well, if you ever needed a smile, here is one sure way to get it.  This stamp set is beyond adorable.

Cheerful Critters

I wasn’t sure at first, but truly couldn’t resist.  After I got the stamps out and made a few things, I quickly fell in love.  A little bit of time with my treasured blendabilities and magic happened.  You really should try it out.

Did I mention that the background paper and ribbons are free items from the Sale-a-bration catalog?  Why not buy the things you love and enjoy a free product or two.

Butterfly Basics, Beautiful Inside and Out

Nearly all of my favorite things are here together in these cards.  Butterflies, more butterflies, pear pizzaz, an awesome heart punch, dazzling diamonds paper, and the beautiful sentiment from a free stamp set.  Life is good.Beautiful Inside and Out

I love how a card can look so different depending on how you set it up, portrait or landscape.  Do I have a favorite?  I love them both of course!

Beautiful Inside and Out

Such a cloudy day outside it is hard to see all the sparkle.  But believe me, it is there in full force.  Do you like the look of the background paper?  It is of course yet another beautiful background stamp from Stampin’Up!  Those guys are amazing.

Beautiful Inside and Out

That means that you could create this card in countless colors.  How fun is that?

Beautiful Inside and Out

I had meant to do this earlier this morning, but my studio needed an overhaul. Evenings are a nice time to post too, and to craft.

Have a creative evening!

Envelope Punch Board Meets Box Punch Board

I was in the mood for a box project, so I went to work.  First off, I know the photo isn’t the best.  I was in a rush out the door this morning and couldn’t sneak a shot outside because of the rain.  But you can still see enough detail.

Lovely Gift Box

I wanted to make a larger box that could work for more than just a treat or two.  My first attempts were with regular cardstock and they worked pretty good, but felt a bit wobbly.  They would have been more solid with an actual gift inside I am sure, but I still switched over to the kraft cardstock.  Much better!

Lovely Gift Box

I used the Chalk Talk stamp set and coordinating framelits, along with a bit of fussy cutting.  I used the naturals ivory cardstock and stamped in daffodil delight.  It really felt like a country wedding.  I brought in the Petite Petals punch and a bunch of sparkle and sponged everything.  I am sometimes compelled to sponge, everything.  I happened to have a huge spool of bias tape that I used for my ribbon and brought in a touch of crocheted lace.

All in all, I think it really turned out lovely.  It measures 6 x 6 x 6, pretty big right? I almost forgot the fun trick part.  I punched and scored using the envelope punch board to make the box.  Then I switched to the box punch board to punch the corners to fasten the box.  Yes, that means that they go together in the back without any adhesive!  Cool trick there for sure.  You should give it a try!

Throw Back Thursday with Good Greetings

Everyone uses the phrase ‘Throw Back Thursday’ when they share old photos.  So much fun.  Well, I thought that would be a great thing to do for stamping as well.  We all love our stamps, even when they are no longer available for purchase.  If you were fortunate enough to get the Good Greetings stamp set, you will recognize these two sweet phrases.

IMAG1978

I put this simple card together with a basic black card base and brought in some crisp cantaloupe.  I made one little heart punch, love the updated one, added some silver ribbon, and stamped I love you once more inside with silver.

IMAG1980

I had to add a little bling, both to dot the “I” and a small row on the card front and just inside.  Not too much, just enough.

Don’t forget to pair your old favorite stamps and tools with all of the fun things you add to your collection.  This is my idea of a perfect Throw Back Thursday.

You + Me =…

Well, isn’t this just the sweetest card?  Who says valentines cards have to be all pink, red, and white?  I love using stamps that are seasonal another way to give it a different look.  This could really be used any time of the year.

You + Me =

The designer paper is from the free paper pack during the Stampin’Up! Sale-a-bration event.  You can earn this free item with your merchandise order of $50 or more.  Who doesn’t love tulips?
