This morning caught me a bit off guard.  Way too much to do and never enough time.  But as always, things come together in the end and everyone gets their needs met.  This little blog of mine often has to wait its turn, and it never even complains, how nice.

I am not sure what to make of this kind of box thing I came up with.  I wanted to use the dsp, but to be honest, it isn’t sturdy enough for the height I had it have.  But I was determined, so it still happened.  I made up the topper as I went.  Boy, did I use a lot of punches.  So glad I have so many to choose from.  I like how it looks though.

I used a full sheet of the dsp.  The box ended up about 8 1/2″ tall.  The band I made used two strips of paper 1 1/4″ x 10″ and I experimented a bit on the scoring to make it fit.  Only took two times.  I hid those on the bottom.  Lots of sponging all the way around really make it look nice.  I sealed up the bottom with tear n tape and left the top open to put stuff inside.  As I said, it will have to be light because the paper won’t handle much.  The band does give it extra structure though.  Give it a try!

Bringing together my favorites once again.  This whole painted blooms and painted petals brings me so much joy.  Pairing it with this beautiful hello there phrase makes it work!

I think I could use the painted petals suite exclusively for some time without getting bored.  Maybe that should be a challenge for me.  Just how many different things can I make, while having them look different, from the same set.  I like it!

And my little punch buddy.  That bow builder makes anything look wonderful.  I even have a couple made up that just sit on my desk.  They are adorable even all by themselves.  What a treat!

Lotus Blossom Gift Set

I really wasn’t feeling well when I sat down to create today’s project, but knew it needed to be done.  My first thought was to make a get well card.  It didn’t do anything for me.

But a friend recently really helped me out when I was in an absolute bind.  Doing something nice for someone is always my perfect inspiration.

So even though I was half asleep and feeling terrible, I managed to make something that I really loved.  It might even make its way into next weekends workshop.  Serving others is awesome!

This project set is all about Lost Lagoon and bows.  I used the Big Shot for the large bow, can’t get enough of that huge bow.  Then I brought in the Bow Builder Punch that is so popular right now.  I thought they went nicely together.  I focused on the Lotus Blossom stamp set.  I tried something new to me.  Instead of putting connecting sentiments on the inside and outside of a card, I connected them with the card and matching gift bag.  The closure on the bag actually just tucks just under that bow and it holds it beautifully.  How awesome is that!  I used designer series paper from the Moonlight paper stack.  Such pretty paper.
