Lovely Amazing You

While sitting next to my youngest daughter, trying to keep her awake to finish homework, I thought I would complete my project for the next day.  Good idea, right?  I pulled two stamp sets I hadn’t used in a while and asked her for a color idea.  She said dark blue, so I went with Night of Navy.  The card began.

She wasn’t having the best of evenings and her older sister came to the rescue, even though she is out of state attending university.  I do think that technology can interfere with real personal relationships, but this was perfect.  The infamous ‘snapchat’ was just the thing.  The sad faces turned to happy and then on to absolutely silly.  And that is how I chose my sentiment.  Thank you my sweet daughter for being the best big sister ever.

The brayer was still out from workshop so I let it give me my background on the large polka dot embossing folder.  Kind of artsy looking, even if I didn’t keep it perfectly clean.  I then decided to do a lot of sponging to disguise some of that, can’t hide it all, and also sponged lightly all over the paper.  Nice.

The little notebook sheet was created with a stamp from the Tap Tap Tap set, offset on some Night of Navy cardstock, raised up on dimensionals and embellished with basic rhinestones.  I even used the 1/16″ hand held punch and punched actual holes over the stamped ones.  Pretty cute.  I finished off the project with a bow of seam binding ribbon and decided I loved it!

Happy Age Awareness Day

This birthday stamp set never gets old for me.  I think some of the phrases are just too funny.  I must have migrated here today because I am a little tired and have a bit of the giggles.  Maybe that is why my photos are all wonky.  Oh well…

Happy Age Awareness Day

I went with just lost lagoon for my color scheme.  Sometimes using one color is all that is needed. It helps to enjoy other parts of the project, like embossing or even just the sentiment.

I put the banner triple punch to work today and really am pleased how they layer so nicely together.  Super simple to make without all of the frustration of trying to make a banner just right.  Thank you for that awesome punch!

Finishing it off with some of the new metallic silver thread also made me very happy.  It is like using ribbon without any of the distractions you sometimes want to avoid.  How fun is that!

Throw Back Thursday with Petite Petal and Pansy Punch Gift Set

Today’s project isn’t about a stamp set, but retired paper and ribbon.  I used paper from last years neutral pack collection.  It sadly got nearly completely ignored.

Pansy and Petite Petal Punch

Yup, ignored.  Having projects to make using retired product makes me happy.  I bought it for a reason, even if I got distracted for a while.  The ribbon has been retired for a bit, but I loved it so much I bought several spools from the clearance rack.  I also snatched many packets of the large rhinestones.  I just love all the sparkle they give.

I have the opportunity to go to a baby shower this weekend and couldn’t help but to make some cards to go with her registry gifts.  I used the colors from the nursery decor.  That led perfectly into strawberry slush, basic gray, and smokey slate.  Just perfectly.  It is hard to tell from my early morning photo, but I also used the current polka dot embossing folder on the background paper.

As you can tell, there are lots of flowers all ready to go.  The set will include a dozen of these pretty cards.  I originally thought them to be thank you cards, but decided to leave off the sentiment as I saw they could be used for a number of things.

They are so simple yet lovely.  You should give them a try!
