Sea Street Pop-Up Party

A super happy birthday would be coming your way with this adorable gift set.  I suppose it might be more inclined towards a child, but I have a great appreciation for cuteness, and this is definitely cute.

I started out with the idea of this octopus holding eight balloons.  I suppose I should have used the bitty balloon punch, but I stayed with it.  Perhaps I will make it again to see how it would look.  I thought the small balloons would get lost in the fun background paper.

The inside framelit action really makes a statement.  Even though it is in the middle, there is still plenty of room to write a personal message.  I do love the motion of the popup.  I had a large piece of paper left from the card background and went with a matching gift bag. If you are giving a birthday card, odds are you are giving a gift too.  Making a set is always my favorite thing.  It also helps me be brave and use up my designer series paper.  You can’t hang onto that too long you know.

A Happy Hello

I tell you what, the more I think things should calm down, the more they wind up.  No need to fuss I say, just pick up where you left off and get going.  So, here we go!

I thought it would be fun to pull out some paper that I did not know how I would put to use. The School House DSP is definitely in that category.  I don’t have young children, and I don’t work in an elementary school setting anymore.  That is when you look to the other side of the paper.  And what did I discover?  These awesome spots!  They just had to get to work in a huge box to show them off.

I stamped the little fish from the Sea Street set in pool party and my sentiment in pacific point.  The color combination is so fun and happy.  Just what I needed.  I even had an unopened spool of pool party cotton ribbon.  That called for a double bow for a little extra fun.  Then my favorite combo of circle punches and I didn’t even sponge them.  The spots were huge and clean looking, so I stayed with that look.  And there you go!

Sea Street Pick Me Up

Today would be one of those days where I could use about eight arms or so to get all the things done I need to.  Hence the cute little guy on the front of this card.  I haven’t always had a smile on today though.

Sea Street Pick Me Up

A very simple card though it doesn’t look too boring.  Probably because of the awesome striped designer paper.  I have hesitated using this pattern because it is so strong.  It looks perfect here though.

A simple stamp, layered once, put up on dimensionals and centered, a little bow made from the beautiful dotted lace trim, which I stuck on with a few glue dots, and this precious little card was done!  It may be late in the day, but I still got it done.  One more thing off my list and it gave me a big smile right back.  Totally worth it!

Adventure Awaits on Sea Street

I do enjoy it when a designer series paper set has a matching stamp set.  Everything just goes together that much better.  I thought this stamp from the Adventure Awaits set had the perfect sailor sentiment.  All kinds of happy here.

I don’t know why I can’t just make one card, but I like everyone to have friends, even my crafting projects.  That sure does make extra stacks of cards to deal with.  I have taken to just giving people blank cards to play with.  It works for everyone.

How about the cute little bag though.  It started out as a bag, I measured wrong, tried a box, then went bag to a modified bag.  What a busy bit of paper.

Of course I had to do some inside stamping.  Those little flags are so adorable.  If I had more patience last night I would have colored them with markers, but I kept it one color for the sake of sanity.  Everyone needs some of that.

The designer paper is retiring, as well as the little oval punch I used to punch out my little anchor from the Sea Street set.  I use that punch a lot.  I will keep that one on hand for sure.  Too useful.

Big News on Sea Street

Is it obvious that I have babies on the mind?  So many of my friends are becoming grandmothers for the first time or more.  So much fun to say the least.

Big News on Sea Street

There have been baby showers, invitations, and fun shopping galore.  So of course I need lots of cards and matching bags!  I can’t imagine how I will be with my own grandchildren.

Big News on Sea Street

This stamp set has been waiting patiently for me.  The ladies I host workshops for are patient with my whimsy.  The coordinating paper is all navy and nautical colored.  I love that, but I wanted these colors today.  I picked the colors before the stamp set.

I just love it.  I used blushing bride, pool party, and calypso coral to make my background paper. I embossed that cute octopus with pool party.  Goodness, what a cutie!

I added a little bling with the in-color sequins on the card and matching bag.  I used the 1 3/4 round punch and matching scallop punch for those starfish.  I finished off each project with blushing bride chevron ribbon.  What more could you ask for?

How about yet another baby shower to use it at?  Done!
