Seriously Amazing

You will have to indulge me one more day of paper pumpkin projects.  This is the other portion of my paper crafting fun day.

Seriously Amazing

These I made very traditional, just like the directions.  It was still super fun and I was much happier with the results than I thought I would be.  Sometimes simplicity can be so beautiful!

Seriously Amazing

How about tiny ones too?  Wouldn’t these be great for gift cards?  I think so too.  I don’t see these as either masculine or feminine, just fun.  So, that means good for either and makes them that much more awesome!

Seriously Amazing

All of these and the kit is only half used.  Yup, I get to make two more large ones and two more small ones.  And, of course I get the totally cute stamps to add to my stash.

Seriously Amazing

All of these fun cards have been added to the card file.  I so love having just the right card right when I need it.  I totally have helped out more than one friend in a bind too.  Share when you can, right?  Of course!

Have a creative day!

Thanks A Latte

Well then, how about these precious little cups!  Last Saturday a good friend of mine came over to paper craft with me and we just got out several of my paper pumpkin kits and went to work.  Some were partials and some were unopened, sorry to say.  Busy crafter here.

Thanks A Latte

But this one is actually the current July kit.  By itself it is absolutely adorable.  I really let myself play on this one.  The instructions showcase simple stamping and there you go, totally adorable.  I had to watercolor.

7-27

After making a lovely little wisteria wonder cup and a little plant set I knew I wanted to do more.  The next cup I took the flowering stamp, it could be a plant but I made them flowers, that would have been the plant growing out of the cup.  I created a pattern on the cup with it, colored them with markers, and then went to town with my aqua painter.  The cup is a little more than an inch square.

7-27 (2)

The new flowers were punched with the floral punch from the itty bitty accents punch pack and the stems were from variegated embroidery floss.  A bit tricky to put together, but lovely at the end.

If you have ever thought about a paper pumpkin subscription, just look at how much fun you can have with them!  There was enough material to make eight cards in this kit, plus totally adorable envelopes.  And, I now have the so cute stamps that came with.

Have a creative day!

Timeless Elegance Birthday

Well, this was to be yesterday’s post.  Talk about an adventure.  I think I killed my laptop.  Apparently it isn’t a good idea to drop your full cup of drink and have it spill all over the keyboard and stuff.  Who knew.  Either way, moving forward.

Timeless Elegance Birthday

Could this paper be any more beautiful?  I could probably open a pack and just project away until it was empty.  It truly is my favorite.  Elegant and so simple.

Timeless Elegance Birthday

Just some simple layering, one stamp, five punched flowers with tiny pearls at each center, dotted the “i” with a pearl, and laid down a string of pearls under ‘birthday’.  There you go.

Timeless Elegance Birthday

I did make a project for today, but I will be saving that for tomorrow.  Wait til you see what I did with a tiny cup die cut from my paper pumpkin kit.  Oh My Goodness, just amazing!

Have a creative day!

You’ve Got Me

I love it when everything coordinates so perfectly, but today is all about the sentiment.  I love these paired phrases, simple but strong.

You've Got Me

The card layering is fairly basic and puts a few favorite punches to work.  A dash of basic rhinestones to draw further attention to the sentiment and the front was done.

You've Got Me

I don’t normally stamp inside a card, but this one needed it.  I zoomed in on the detail, but it actually measures barely over a square inch.  When that card gets opened, that is what you see. “You’ve Got Me.”  How perfect is that.

You've Got Me

This new paper pack is loaded with beautiful paper.  I just used one sheet for this card.  The green floral is the other side to the main floral front.  My little flowers are from scrap of the same sheet.  I love putting all everything to work.

Tiny Thank You

Spending the morning with my husband took first place today.  So, blogging had to happen later on in the morning.  Works great for me, during the summer that is.

Tiny Thank You

I didn’t know where to start this morning, so I turned to my scrap pile.  You know, those extra bits of paper that are too big to toss and haven’t filed back into the paper files.  Well, there was this piece of bermuda bay measuring 5×6 that was calling to me.  I did the math and ended up using my scoreboard to make this cute little carton.  Simple division is a beautiful thing, did I just say that?  Yup!

Tiny Thank You

This carton is big enough to fill with plenty of treats or even a nail polish or two.  Sometimes it is fun to say thank you in a different way.  I do have a weakness for cute little boxes and bags.

Tiny Thank You

How about the washi tape though!  I did all of my scores first and then got the tape out.  I put it down on an angle leaving about 3/4″ between pieces.  I didn’t measure, just eyeballed it.  From a distance it looks like striped paper with blue stripes over the top.  Fun look.

Banner punches went to work on the adorable sentiment tag.  Using bakers twine was the only thing tiny enough to work well.  All in all, I do love this little guy. Now, who to share it with…

Have a creative day!

I’m So Grateful For You

After yet another awesome summer concert I am super exhausted!  So I asked my daughter this morning what color she thought this flower would be.  She talked about purple, orange or yellow.  I thought about tropical, but went with elegant eggplant.

I'm So Grateful For You

It is hard to tell, but there is silver ink painted over the purple.  Of course I had to get out my trusty aqua painter for all three ink colors I used.  Totally love that thing!

I'm So Grateful For You

There was a heavy amount of sponging as well.  I loved the sentiment, but it was the second half of the front sentiment and it was basically a dangling participle.  So, I just didn’t ink up the ‘and’ and the beginning.  Perfect!

I'm So Grateful For You

I may have been half asleep for this project, but it turned out really wonderful.  It is great when I get to sit back and be impressed with myself.  A job well done.

Have a creative day!

Love You My Friend

In the middle of cleaning out book shelves I had an idea for a card.  So I went to my desk, pulled out the stamps, dies and ribbon, and went back to my shelving.  This morning I just looked at them and thought, “What did I have in mind?”  Not sure, but this is what I ended up with.

Love You My Friend

I think it is funny because if you don’t read the little word love that is inside the heart cut out, the tags just say “you my friend”.  A bit basic, but really made me laugh.

Love You My Friend

All of the detail work went pretty quickly.  I started out by using the heart die cut on the whisper white paper and then ran it through the big shot to emboss it.  I thought the stamping inside the heart would be tricky to place.  Not at all.  I just eyeballed it and it was perfect!  Go figure!  The tags were simple stamping on scrap.  I do save scrap a bit too much sometimes.  But, the half inch that gets cut off when I trim down my paper works perfectly for sentiments and the banner punch.  Some might call it clutter, but I have used them so many times.

Love You My Friend

Larger Than Life!

Turning 18 can be exciting, scary, or even uneventful.  As a parent it is definitely exciting and scary, but it would be nice if it was calm and even a bit subtle.  With my oldest daughter turning 18 next week, subtle is more likely the theme.  She is at university now, and I won’t be there to celebrate with her.  A care package is in order for sure.

Larger Than Life!

The new designer series paper packs are awesome.  I love that they measure 6×6.  You aren’t limited by the direction of the pattern because you have a larger area to work with.  Makes me so happy.

Larger Than Life!

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to work with this huge letter and alphabet set, but I went for it.  It is so huge!  But I think I will have a ton of fun with it.  I honestly think it would be so funny if I turned the period after the number abbreviation to a red exclamation point.  Could I deny her the birthday?  Stop my daughter from growin up any more?  Not likely.

Larger Than Life!

A clean and simple card is the theme here.  Celebrating birthdays doesn’t mean everything is to be all flashy, it could, but it doesn’t have to be.

Have a creative day!

A Whole Lot of Lovely

Afternoons are good for blogging too.  Especially when you put your family first in the morning.  I do love a good routine, but sometimes you need to be flexible.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

I do try to say thank you right away, but sometimes you need a bit more.  Just like this little treat bag.  It is tiny, but is the right touch to emphasize the thank you.  I loved giving it away this morning at church.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

The new paper stacks are so fun.  This lovely floral pattern is one of many in the pack.  I do love floral paper, probably too much.  Either way, I thought the flowers on the paper matched the flowers in the hostess stamp set A Whole Lot of Lovely.  They look so nice together.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

Some stamping, a little bit of pearls, and plenty of ribbon and off we go!  Take the time to make a special thank you, it feels great to give it away!

One Big Meaning

Today is workshop day!  As much as I dislike all the rush to finish up last minute to-do’s, workshop is always fun.  I get to work with a bunch of really great ladies that love to create and do beautiful work.

One Big Meaning

I set out for a super quick project this morning and found it.  I do love how a few good punches can make magic so quickly.  It really was a grab and go kind of card.

One Big Meaning

This was made with a card front in my ever so favorite newsprint designer series paper.  It is so light and clean.  The look of newspaper without all the mess.  Partnered with a card base in sahara sand, all it needed was a simple sentiment and a bit of fluff.

One Big Meaning

I love the new thank you set, One Big Meaning.  I like having choices of how I say thank you.  A heavy dose of itty bitty flowers and basic pearls and it was nearly done.  A full bow was too much, so I opted for a simple knot instead.  When you are working with the beautiful dotted lace trim you can’t go wrong.  Great stuff!

Just Kidding…

Emma thought I should do a card that went with our current nail polish colors.  She has the blue and yes, I do have a very bright pink.  I wasn’t sure about the combination, but went for it anyway.  Why not?

Just Kidding...

Looking at the colors, I knew I had to put something silly together.  The Just Kidding stamp set is very silly, so that was the obvious choice.

Just Kidding...

A standard card base with a narrow white card front, which I embossed in the decorative dots folder.  Then I added a layer of pool party, also with a narrow border, and the final stamped card front.  The aqua painter came to the rescue again and helped me color this funny lady in.

Just Kidding...

I used a coordinating sentiment for the inside that says, “You’ll be missed.”  So, it ends up nice after all.  Just Kidding, get it?  Like I said, a silly set.  There are lots of fun phrases in it, lots.  A not so quick bow tied at the front and I called this one complete.

Remarkable You

Working with great paper makes everything so much more fun.  Colored embossed paper, in such pretty colors?  Of course, why not!

Remarkable You

The project began with the new heavy weight whisper white cardstock, I love having such a heavy base, and gathered layers of stamping and more color.  The image and sentiment come from the same set, which is delicious by the way, and were stamped in black stazon.  I knew I would be water coloring, so that is the perfect ink to work with.

Remarkable You

I blended watermelon wonder with a touch of crumb cake and it turned out so nice.  I chose crumb cake because I was using linen thread and wanted to tie in the colors.  A large ribbon wasn’t going to work here.  It took too much focus away from the flower and sentiment.

Remarkable You

I think I would add a mat or two behind the flower next time, but left it alone for now.  It turned out nice, just right.  I do love a simple water color.

Have a creative day!

You’ve Got This

I love beautiful paper, just love it.  This Timeless Elegance set is truly wonderful to work with.  Once I cut this piece for a card front the rest of the card came together so easily.

You've Got This

The card base is very vanilla with a narrow background of the same color.  It isn’t easy to see, but it gives it just the right touch.  The stamping was also done on the same color and cut out with the tags and labels framelits.  That new set makes me very happy.  I like a tighter border in layering and this set does it well.

You've Got This

Of course everything is layered up on dimensionals, I have to have that.  And that ribbon.  I just got this one and couldn’t wait to use it.  The stitched satin ribbon is lovely, just lovely.  A pretty bow and then on to flowers.

You've Got This

The petite petal punch and the flower from the itty bitty accents punch pack make it work.  I filled the corner up nicely and gave everyone basic pearls in the center.  Simple and yet very elegant.

Have a creative day!

High Five – That Thing You Did

Yesterday was full of excitement at an adventure park.  I am not so brave, but I do try some because my husband loves them.  I went on my two favorite ones, twice, so I get a big high five!

High Five - That Thing You Did

It may not sound like much, but there are times when I don’t ride anything, so this is improvement.  But, I was pretty darn tired this morning and didn’t feel like creating much.  I was snapchatting my daughter at university and asked her for some help.  These were her color choices.  It was an enthusiastic choice, just like riding a roller coaster.

High Five - That Thing You Did

I used a full sheet of tangerine tango to make this bag.  My scoring measurements were 1 1/4″ and 4″ then repeat to leave a 1/2″ edge.  I scored the bottom at 1 1/4″ to match the sides and did 1/2″ at the top for easy closure.  Quick burnishing and folding put this large bag together.

High Five - That Thing You Did

I stamped the bag tone on tone using the matching tangerine tango ink.  The sentiment was stamped first in crushed curry, then since the other colors were darker and could handle it, I stamped over one edge in garden green and the other edge in tangerine tango.  It gave a really cool look I think.

A fun bag for a fun person I would think.  Now, to figure out just who needs it.

Lovely Amazing You

When you live in a house with teenage girls you get to enjoy all of the fun that goes along with it.  That includes having a healthy obsession over a fun band, One Direction.  My husband bought us concert tickets last fall, as a Christmas gift, and the concert was this last weekend.

Lovely Amazing You

While we were waiting for the show, I studied the stage and, guilty as charged, I started thinking of a card idea.  Well, why not, right?

Lovely Amazing You

I used three different stamp sets to put this together, and I could have done more.  I love how so many sets have these little accent stamps that can be used tons of different ways.

Lovely Amazing You

This comes down to a thank you card that will never be sent, I am sure my daughter will just want to keep it.  It was a blast to be with my girls, watching them totally fan girl over their ‘boys’, and revel in their happiness.  Just like Christmas morning magic for a child, really.

That Thing You Did

This stamp set is just the best.  The combination phrases really get me laughing.  This one in particular is my favorite.  You’re on my mind, but not in a creepy way.  How great is that.

That Thing You Did

I like how it looks all pretty and then this secondary saying just throws it off like crazy.  Almost like if you aren’t really paying attention, you will totally miss the joke.  My favorite.

That Thing You Did

A simple embossed background with the new cool boho chic folder.  I wasn’t sure at first, but that didn’t last long.  It is way cool.  Lots of options there.

That Thing You Did

This is short and sweet today because first, the card just doesn’t need a lot of explaining.  Second, I am posting ahead because I am taking my girls to a concert, that they have been waiting for since Christmas, and I wanted to focus on that.  I made this card as a thank you for my sister-in-law for letting us stay over at her place after the concert.  I also made a little matching tote with a bunch of other cards for her to use as part of the thank you.  Good stuff there!

Have a creative day!

You’ve Got This

My mind is a little more scattered than usual this morning.  That is because there are more than one exciting things going on.  Yes, and that includes me finally getting to showcase this awesome stamp set!

You've Got This

Good things are about to happen, truly.  This is a weekend made for family, friends, and fun.  How exciting, right?

You've Got This

This card though.  I kept the layering very simple and clean.  I wanted to see both of these stamps well and not have one overpower the other.  I think that worked out pretty darn well if I do say so myself.

You've Got This

I stamped the image in versamark ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.  When I stamped over with the background stamp, in sahara sand, the image showed through so nicely.  I did have to rub it a bit with a paper towel to get the ink off the embossing, but not much.  And there you have it!

I repeated the stamping somewhat on the inside using the background stamp edges.  I can see so many possibilities with this set.  I think I will have to set one day aside to see just what I can do with it.

The Little Moments

I got it into my head to open this paper, do a sponge ombre look, and call it good.  I loved this type of paper from the Sale-a-bration bonus catalog and couldn’t wait for Stampin’Up! to make more.  They sure did.  But I had a surprise when I opened the pack up.

The Little Moments

There were six white sheets and six colored ones.  I looked into the catalog to see what was up, and sure enough, there the colored ones are too.  I thought they were just examples of how it could look all inked up.  I did not pay attention very well.  Fun for me though!

The Little Moments

The resist pattern looks like raindrops to me, guess that is what it actually is.  Marina mist seemed to be the appropriate color choice, so I sponged away to make an ombre look.  I love how striking the raindrops are, yummy.

I took a sentiment from the watercolor wings stamp set and punched it out with the note tag punch and layered it up.  Pretty simple overall.  I started out with a 6×6 piece of paper, sponged it, scored it and stuck it together.  If I was brave enough to video you would have witnessed an epic ribbon battle.  No one was injured in the making of that bow, but it was close.

Timeless Elegance

Jumping in with both feet here everyone.  I managed to once again open a new pack of DSP, that I am so in love with, take out my favorite pattern and make something without guilt.  Isn’t this paper just so beautiful?

Timeless Elegance

I feel like I got into my daughters sketch book and took out drawings for a card front.  Almost a dreamy feel.   The whole pack of paper is so pretty.  One side has a hand drawn feel and the other sides are more patterned and organized.  Best of both worlds.  I also like that it isn’t just black and vanilla, but includes sahara sand for that perfect balance.  I will be buying more of this I can tell.

Timeless Elegance

To give a touch of color, even though it didn’t need it, I got out my blackberry bliss sponge dauber and did some ever so exact swirling.  It took just a few seconds to swirl around and bring in some color.  Good stuff.

Timeless Elegance

I tried to use a ribbon or something else to accessorize it, but kept pulling it off.  The paper spoke for itself on this project.  I couldn’t even do a layered tag for the sentiment.  So I used my versamark and embossing powder to put the sentiment right on the paper.   I even left the inside clean to keep the focus all on this paper.

Have a creative day!

Just For You Treat Bag Card

I started this project out completely different than it ended up.  Who doesn’t like an adventure now and again, right?

Just For You Treat Bag Card

The mini treat bag thinlits were out waiting to get to work.  I wanted to use he heart framelit and coordinating stamp.  After I pulled the paper and matching seam binding ribbon, it switched around on me.  Not a problem,

Just For You Treat Bag Card

Then I didn’t have a treat to put inside so I could give it away.  How can you give away a treat bag with no treats?  You can’t, that wouldn’t be any fun.  So I thought, does it have to hold a treat?  Why not make it an envelope and put a card to write on inside.

Just For You Treat Bag Card

Worked like a champ!  Now I have another choice with how I use this set.  Not everyone wants a treat, but something sweet to read is also yummy.  This little number will also fit inside one of our standard envelopes for mailing.  How cool is that!

A quick note on the stamp.  I stamped the image once and used the coordinating framelit.  It cut off the cool dashed boarder that I liked so well.  So I stamped it again, fussy cut it out, not my favorite activity, and layered it on dimensionals.  After I sponged everything of course.  Thought you might like that little detail.

Have a creative day!
